Arthur James Emery Powell, N.A. (1864 - 1956)

Born in Ohio, Powell settled in Dover Plains, New York. He studied at the San Francisco School of Design, the St. Louis School of Fine Art, and in Paris at the Academie Julian. Powell exhibited at the National Academy, the Pennsylvania Academy, the Corcoran, the Salmagundi Club, Allied Artists, the Kent Art Association, and the Dutchess Counnty Art Associaiton, winning numerous awards.
