Fresh from the estate of the artist. Born in Hanover, NH, Marie Spaeth studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Philadelphia School of Design. In 1890 she studied with William Merritt Chase at Shinnecock, and then in Europe. She married Princeton professor Johm Duncan Spaeth. She kept a summer home in New Hampshire. Spaeth exhibited at the PAFA, the National Academy, the Corcoran, and more.
