William Sherman Potts (1876 - 1930)

Born in Millburn, New Jersey, Potts studied at the Pennsylvania Academy and in Paris. He later lived in Noank, Connecticut. He was president of the Mystic Society of Artists, a member of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, and a founder of the American Artists Professional League. He also exhibited at the PAFA, Salons of America, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
