A fresh finely articulated work by an important Cape Ann artist and member of the National Academy. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Paul Strisik served in the Navy during World War II, then studied at the Art Students League with Frank Vincent DuMond. In 1953 he moved to Rockport, Massachusetts and established his gallery in 1955. Active in the Rockport Art Association and serving as president (1968 - 1971), he was a member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Academy, Allied Artists, the Guild of Boston Artists, the North Shore Art Association, and many more. Strisk won 16 gold medals and many many awards. His works are in many private and museum collections including the Peabody Essex Museum and the Cape Ann Historical Museum.
