Born in Coventry, England, Walter Farndon came to the United States and settled in Yonkers, New York. He studied at the National Academy of Design, where he was later elected an Associate in 1928, and an Academician in 1937. He also studied with Robert Henri. Farndon was a member of the National Academy, the Society of Independent Artists, Allied Artists, and many more. He traveled and painted the east coast and coastal New England including Cape Ann, Monhegan, and Nova Scotia. His exhibitions include the Boston Art Club, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Corcoran, the Pennsylvania Academy, the Pan-Pacific Exposition, the Brooklyn Museum, and many more.
