Born in Lexington, Massachusetts, she was a direct descendant of Capt. John Parker, who commanded the Minute Men in the battle of Lexington, of April 19, 1775. She studied art at the Massachusetts School of Art in Boston and with Henry Snell. She taught in the public schools of Richmond, Indiana, and then in New York City. She was a member of the National Association of Women Artists, the Gloucester Art Association, the North Shore Art Association, and the Brooklyn Society of Art. She also exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Society of Independent Artists.
