Born in Hungary, Francois Gall studied at the Royal Academy in Rome and then in Paris, eventually becoming a French citizen. Gall painted and exhibited scenes of everyday life in Paris. In 1947 he was awareded the Medaille d'Ore. In 1953 he was invited to debut in numerous exhibitions in the United States and Canada. He met with great success at the Paris Salons and then exhibited internationally, winning numerous awards including gold medals. In 1976 he was elected to one of France's most coveted levels of achievement when appointed Chevalier dans l'Odre des Arts et des Lettres.
