Henry O'Connor (1891 - 1975)

Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, Henry O'Connor became an illustrator, painter, and etcher. He studied at Massachusetts Normal Art School, the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts with Joseph De Camp, Frank Benson and Abbott Thayer, and in Paris at the Academy Julian. He also studied with Joseph Pennell, In the 1920's he became apprenctice to Abbott Thayer in Dublin, NH. He later lived in New York City and in California.

O'Connor's exhibitions include the National Academy of Design, the Boston Art Club, the Copley Society,
the Provincetown Art Association, the Salmagundi Club (President, 1946-7), and many more.

Works are in the collections of the Massachusetts State Capitol, the New Jersey Medical Center, Harvard University, and the Newark Museum.
